BUT IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO ACT!
We meet to put the post-COP26 goals into action and create a better future together
Combating climate change is critical for a sustainable future. If we want to prevent irreversible climate change, we must halve our emissions by 2030 and transition to carbon-neutral economies by 2050 so that global temperature rise can be limited to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
The 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), to be held in Scotland in November, is a very important date for the steps to be taken in the world regarding climate. COP26, which will evaluate the developments within the scope of the Paris Climate Agreement, which is now on Turkey’s agenda, is a global call to action for all other stakeholders, including companies, public and private institutions, academia, policymakers and NGOs, to respond to the climate change emergency.
The science is clear, the climate crisis is real, and we are experiencing it right now. Global warming is causing long-lasting changes to our climate system and threatening lives and livelihoods worldwide. Societies, governments and businesses around the world have united towards a common goal. By displaying a common will against the effects of climate change, we can change this course and build a better future together.
TIME TO REPAIR TOGETHER
Businesses have the ability and responsibility to develop solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change. It is an inevitable necessity to establish a clear and consistent climate policy through dialogue and global cooperation between the business world and all stakeholders for actions and investments towards a low carbon economy.
The Climate Change Summit – COP26, which will be held on December 9, in cooperation with Dünya Newspaper and Sustainability Academy, will then evaluate the results of COP26, a very important decision moment in the fight against climate change, and its reflections on Turkey, with all stakeholders under the theme of “Towards Net Zero”.
WHAT WILL BE TALKED AT THE SUMMIT?
Leading figures from the business world, public sector, civil society and academia come together to discuss the effects of climate change, to reveal the targets, obstacles, possible risks and opportunities in the axis of green transformation, and to discuss the urgent actions to be taken against this crisis.
